We can today confirm that young batter Isaac Mohammed has been ruled out of the upcoming Men’s ICC U19’s World Cup campaign after sustaining an injury in training earlier this week.
The Young Lions batter suffered a fractured left thumb after being hit during a practice session following the team’s arrival in Zimbabwe, with the injury ending Isaac’s hopes of playing in the tournament.
He will be replaced in the 15-player squad by Yorkshire all-rounder Will Bennison.
England open their ICC U19 Men’s World Cup campaign against Pakistan in Harare on Friday 16 January.
We wish Isaac well in his recovery and will provide updates on his rehabilitation in due course.
