We are delighted to confirm a packed 2026 Vitality T20 Blast fixture schedule that sees Worcestershire Rapids hosting four home Friday night fixtures, as well as two Men’s and Women’s double-headers.
In a revamped 2026 tournament, both Rapids teams begin their respective campaigns on Friday, 22nd May with an exciting double header away against Leicestershire Foxes.
The two teams then welcome Northants Steelbacks to Visit Worcestershire New Road in another eagerly anticipated double header fixture in both side’s opening home group game on Sunday, 24th May.
We don’t have to wait long to be reacquainted with near neighbours Warwickshire Bears, with the fierce rivalry reignited at Visit Worcestershire New Road on Friday, 29th May in a game broadcast live on Sky Sports.
You can enjoy the second derby day instalment on Friday, 26th June, when Worcestershire Rapids travel to Edgblaston.
The Vitality Blast Men’s Competition now consists of 12 group-stage matches, comprised of three groups of six, which has allowed schedulers to place 80 per cent of group-stage fixtures in fan-friendly slots on a Friday, Sunday or a Bank Holiday.
There’s plenty to look forward to with more local clashes against Somerset, Glamorgan, Gloucestershire as well as a first ever T20 meeting with Kent, thanks to the exciting new competition format that will see six men’s home fixtures throughout the group stage.
The group stage culminates on Sunday, 12th July as we travel to Taunton to take on reigning champions, Somerset, in the final game of the group.
Our Women’s side continue their Vitality T20 Blast tournament with a standalone home fixture against Derbyshire Falcons on Sunday, 31st May.
Further home games follow against Middlesex and Sussex Sharks, whilst the squad prepare for trips to face off against Kent, Gloucestershire and Glamorgan in their remaining away fixtures.
The winner of the Men’s 2026 Vitality T20 Blast will be crowned at the iconic Finals Day, scheduled for Saturday, 18th July at Edgblaston, whilst the Women’s winners will be confirmed on Sunday, 12th July at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.
Men’s Head Coach, Alan Richardson, said his Worcestershire Rapids side are eagerly anticipating the start of next summer’s Vitality T20 Blast.
“The T20 Blast matches always take on a slightly different feel within the squad and amongst all of our supporters, the atmosphere is electric wherever we go and whoever we play, so to be hosting four Friday night games in front of our fans is a very exciting prospect.
“We had a promising end to the group stage last year in a very competitive group, so we are looking forward to renewing some of those rivalries as well as forging a few new ones during 2026.”
A total of 61 double headers will be played next season with both the Men’s and Women’s competitions revamped following this year’s county-led review, that will see a greater focus on derby rivalries, more matches in fan-friendly days and a more balanced schedule to support player performance.
Ed Wilson, Women’s Head Coach, added how much his Rapids Women’s squad are eagerly anticipating the start of the new T20 season.
“Our girls always look forward to the start of the Vitality T20 Blast and to be able to look forward to some more double headers is a very exciting prospect for us as a group.
“The Blast matches always prove to be very memorable days and the additions of fixtures against some teams we haven’t faced off against before will only help build excitement for the girls.”
