Worcestershire County Cricket Club will begin the 2026 Rothesay County Championship campaign season with an away trip to face Derbyshire, on Friday, 3rd April, at the start of another eagerly anticipated red-ball summer.
Returning to action in Division Two for the first time since 2023, the opening fixture completes a set of back-to-back away games, that sees the Pears face off with Middlesex, at Lords, on Friday, April 10th.
We will have to wait until Friday, 24th April for the start of the cricketing summer at Visit Worcestershire New Road, as we entertain Kent.
Brett D’Oliveira’s men then face a trip to Northamptonshire on Friday, 1st May, followed by a home fixture against Durham and an away clash with Lancashire.
June sees the Pears enjoy the luxury of back-to-back Rothesay County Championship home matches, with four-day matches scheduled against Middlesex and Gloucestershire.
Thursday, 27th August sees the red ball festival of cricket return to Visit Worcestershire New Road when we entertain Lancashire, a fixture sandwiched in-between a date with Gloucestershire at Cheltenham and further matches against Kent, Northants and Durham.
The Division Two season will be rounded off as it started, as we close the year against Derbyshire at Visit Worcestershire New Road.
After a challenging 2025 season in Division One of the Rothesay County Championship, Men’s Head Coach, Alan Richardson said his side are looking forward to hitting the ground running.
“First class cricket provides a plethora of demands and last year we showed unbelievable fight and spirit right until the very end in Championship Cricket.
“We want to be challenging across all competitions, especially in red ball cricket and are already building towards a big start to 2026.”
