Worcestershire Seconds will be in local derby action this week when they take on their Warwickshire counterparts in a four-day match at Coventry and North Warwicks CC beginning tomorrow.
Coach Kevin Sharp’s side, who are assured of at least third spot in the Championship, will be looking to bounce back from last week’s setback against Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl in another four-day encounter.
The County are fielding a strong looking side with young pacemen George Scrimshaw and Pat Brown impressing in Friday’s NatWest T20 Blast match against Derbyshire Falcons.
Opening batsman George Rhodes, all-rounder Alex Hepburn and middle order batsman Ross Whiteley also featured at the 3aaa County Ground.
It is also a chance for players who could come into contention for the Specsavers County Championship match with Gloucestershire beginning a week today at New Road to get in valuable match practice and push their claims for possible selection.
Alex Milton will be looking to continue the fine form he has being showing with the bat for the Seconds – he hit two fifties at the Ageas Bowl – and also for Cardiff for whom he completed 1,000 league runs at the weekend.
Paceman Charlie Morris will again skipper the Seconds who will line-up:
