worcestershire seconds will launch their 2018 championship campaign against local rivals warwickshire at portland road, ladywood in birmingham.
the three-day fixture will take place on the old mitchell and butlers ground starting on april 24.
the county’s second match in the competition is also away, versus mcc young cricketers at high wycombe from may 9.
their opening home championship game is scheduled for may 22, 23, 24 against lancashire at barnt green although the venue is to be confirmed.
worcestershire were in strong contention to win the north group last summer, heading the table at one stage but finally finishing third.
in the second eleven trophy, worcestershire’s programme will begin against visiting warwickshire at barnt green on may 1.
their first away fixture will be two days later versus derbyshire at alvaston and boulton.
worcestershire also performed well in this 50 over format in 2017, winning their first four north group matches and narrowly missing out on qualifying for the knockout stages.
once again, the competition will mirror the first team’s involvement in the royal london one-day cup with the trophy games being bracketed together in a three week period during may.
worcestershire will start their t20 campaign with the first of two seconds t20 fixtures being held at New Road – against durham on june 11.
the t20 consists of two fixtures on the same day, normally getting underway at 11.30am and 3pm.
worcestershire finished second from bottom in 2017 but their four victories was still an improvement on their performance the previous summer.
