steve magoffin warmed up for the return of the specsavers county championship next week by claiming three wickets for worcestershire seconds on day one of the championship match with durham at kidderminster.
the paceman was signed predominantly to play red ball cricket for the county who take on lancashire at New Road from wednesday june 20-23.
magoffin sent down 22 overs and finished with 3-91 with his victims including durham century-maker bryden carse who was caught behind.
he also held onto a return catch from sam steel (69) while opener ross greenwell (48) also nicked through to keeper safwaan imtiaz.
durham totalled 391-7 declared after opting to bat at chester road.
worcestershire gave a debut to paceman dylan ross-watt – a paceman from south african who is birmingham league side halesowen’s overseas player.
he had one wicket to show for his efforts with ryan pringle (27) caught at cover.
zain ul-hassan broke an opening stand of 91 when liam trevaskis departed to a catch at mid wicket.
worcestershire openers george rhodes and ollie westbury safely negotiated nine overs as the seconds closed on 15-0.
