Ross Whiteley top-scored for a Worcestershire CCC XI as they defeated Shropshire CCC First XI by nine runs via the Duckworth-Lewis Method at Bridgnorth CC.
The all-rounder scored a typically robust 45 off 36 balls with three sixes and four fours as the Worcestershire CCC XI totalled 206-9 in their 40 overs.
He spent some welcome time at the crease after being part of the 13 for the opening two Bob Willis Trophy matches against Gloucestershire and Glamorgan.
Openers Ollie Westbury (31) and Rehaan Edavalath (22) put on 48 and, after Whiteley was fifth out at 119, Ben Twohig contributed 41 off 40 balls and Pat Brown an unbeaten 15 from 11 deliveries.
Sam Whitney was Shropshire’s most successful bowler with 5-47 from his eight overs.
When Shropshire replied, Ben Parker picked up two wickets for 10 runs in five overs with Elliott Mason (1-32) and Harry Cooke (1-12) the other wicket-takers – plus a run-out.

Worcestershire Second XI Coach, Kadeer Ali hit an unbeaten 66 from 44 balls with one six and eight fours.
Twohig was in the runs for Kidderminster and also picked up two wickets in a 46 run success over Halesowen.
He scored 53 from 72 deliveries with six boundaries as Kidderminster totalled 218-6 and then returned 8-2-15-2 with the ball as Halesowen were dismissed for 172 in 38.2 overs.
Pathway Coach Andy Sutton returned the splendid figures of 8-4-4-5 to help Barnt Green (107-2) to a eight wicket win over Bromsgrove (106 all out).
