Worcestershire Academy went down by 36 runs in a T20 match with Ireland Under-17s at Bromsgrove CC despite fighting back with the ball and a half century from Ollie Westbury.
It meant Ireland came out on top 3-2 after a week long series of 50 over and T20 matches against the Academy.
Ireland opted to bat and openers Jamie Grassi (55) and Sam Murphy (32) put on 91 in 10 overs.
But then five wickets fell for five runs with spinners Jujhar Johal and Mahaaz Ahmed mainly instrumental.
Johal finished with 3-23 from four overs and Ahmed 2-29 as Ireland closed on 173-9.
When the Academy launched their reply, 20 runs came off the opening two overs but the Irish bowlers then got on top.
Westbury, fresh from his success with the England Under-19 side, came in at number four and made 52 off 45 balls with seven fours.
But the Academy slipped behind the required run rate as wickets fell at regular intervals and they closed on 137-9.
