Captain Chloe Hill will make her first appearances of the season for Worcestershire Women’s Rapids this weekend.
Keeper-batter Hill will lead the side in their ECB Women’s County Championship T20 Group Two double header with Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire at Geddington on Sunday.
She will take over the reins from Clare Boycott who has skippered the Rapids for the majority of the campaign.
Hill has been unavailable this summer primarily because of her commitments with South East Stars in the Charlotte Edwards Cup (CEC) and Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy (RHFT).
She has made eight CEC and 10 RHFT appearances during the 2024 campaign after signing a contract with the Stars last winter after an initial loan spell from Southern Vipers.
Hill, who took on the captaincy role in 2021, skippered the Rapids to the T20 title in 2022 and returned for the final to lead the side to glory in last year’s West Midlands Regional Cup.
Pace bowler Amy Maund is also part of the squad after her 5-31 at Lord’s helped Loughborough University defeat University of Exeter to win the British Universities and College Sport Women’s Premier final.
The Rapids are facing back to back matches as they take on Cambridgeshire at 1.30pm and then Northamptonshire at 4.30pm.
