ALL-ROUND HEROICS FROM TAYLOR WHILE SINGH ENJOYS FOUR WICKET HAUL

Worcestershire all-rounder Tom Taylor continued his excellent start to his spell in Australia with Altona North with two fine performances.

Taylor helped Altona to a 36 run win over Williamstown by 36 runs in a Victorian Turf Cricket Association T20 encounter by smashing 41 off 18 balls and then picking up two wickets.

He came in at number three and struck three sixes and four fours and put on 66 for the second wicket with opener Haydn Wilkinson (75 off 47 balls).

He despatched Tom Burton for successive maximums before being dismissed in the ninth over after laying a platform for an eventual total of 189-8.

Taylor then came on second change and was rewarded with the final two wickets to fall, dismissing Ryan Schaufler (8) and Brenton Fletcher (0) as Williamstown closed on 162-8.

Taylor finished with figures of 4-0-28-2.

He then completed a fine all-round performance on day two of the VTA first grade meeting with Oaks Park St. Francis de Sales.

Taylor had a return of 17-8-25-4 after taking the new ball to follow on from his 98 on day one last weekend out of a total of 309-8 from 80 overs.

Taylor began with four successive maidens before dismissing Justin Beach in his fifth over as part of an opening spell of 6-5-1-1.

He bowled several spells and one of them produced three wickets in the space of four deliveries as Oak St Park ended on 230-9 from 72.3 overs.

Worcestershire new signing, Fateh Singh, also enjoyed a four wicket haul for Canterbury CC in an emphatic 136 run win over Mount Albert in a East Cricket Association Dunstan Shield clash.

The spinner, who has moved to Visit Worcestershire New Road on a three year contract, was dismissed for seven after opening as Canterbury totalled 176-7 in 40 overs.

But he then came on second change with the ball and blew away the middle order.

Singh ended with 4-1-14-4, with three of his victims dismissed without troubling the scorers, as Mount Albert were bowled out for 40.
