Worcestershire Academy launched their three-match tour with a 64 run win over Ireland Under-17s at Oak Hill CC, County Wicklow in a 50 over fixture.
Dan Holland struck a half century for the Academy who totalled 192-9 after electing to bat.
Josh Baker then chipped in with three wickets as Ireland were bowled out for 128 in 38.5 overs.
Holland came in at number three and the score quickly became 13-2 before he added 61 for the third wicket with Joe Miszkowski (24).
Ed Bragg (17) partnered him in another useful partnership of 39.
Holland was fifth out with the total on 141 and then wicket-keeper Henry Cullen struck 37 off 47 balls.
Ireland were quickly reduced to 3-2 in reply via a wicket for Mitchell Stanley and a run out.
They recovered to reach 65-2 thanks to S. Lynch (23) and A. Johnston (38) before both were trapped lbw by Aaron Tomson and Baker respectively.
Wickets then fell at regular intervals and the Academy finished as comfortable winners.
Baker ended with figures of 7-1-19-3 and Tomson a full 10 over spell of 2-32 with Freddie Fallows (2.5-1-7-2), Stanley (6-1-25-1) and Henry Marshall (7-1-15-1) also amongst the wickets.
The two sides will meet again tomorrow at the same venue in another 50 over fixture.
