Charlie Clist struck an unbeaten 64 for Worcestershire Seconds on day two of the Championship match with Yorkshire Seconds at Kidderminster.
Clist and Brinder Phagura came to the Seconds rescue after they had resumed on 38-2 and slumped to 84-7 in reply to Yorkshire’s 282 all out.
The pair put on 91 for the eighth wicket in 27 overs.
Phagura fell for 46 off 89 balls with seven fours to spinner Josh Poysden (15.4-1-36-3) who mopped up the last three wickets.
But Clist remained defiant and his 121 ball knock batting at number seven contained seven fours before
Worcestershire were bowled out for 193 in the 73rd over.
Paceman Jared Warner did most of the early damage and finished with figures of 13-3-22-5.
Worcestershire secured one batting bonus point to add to the four for bowling.
Former Worcestershire Academy product Will Fraine hit an unbeaten century when Yorkshire batted for the second time.
Fraine put on 164 for the first wicket with Finlay Bean (63) and ended on 105 not out from 139 balls with two sixes and 12 fours.
Triallist Chris Sanders followed up his three first innings wickets by making the only breakthrough as Yorkshire closed on 199-1 from 49 overs – a lead of 288 heading into the final day.
