DELL HELPS MOSMAN TO ANOTHER SOLID START IN T20 SETBACK

Josh Dell featured in an opening stand of 72 but was on the losing side for Mosman CC in a rain-affected New South Wales Premier Cricket Kingsgrove Sports Twenty20 Cup match against visiting Eastern Suburbs.

Worcestershire CCC batsman Dell made 24 off 19 balls with one six and one four in a partnership spanning 8.2 overs with Luke Shelton after Mosman elected to bat.

It was the duo’s second successive half century stand in the competition after putting on 60 in last weekend’s win over UNSW.

On this occasion Shelton top-scored with 72 off 39 balls out of a total of 147-3 from 14 overs.

But Eastern Suburbs made light work of a revised target in racing to 89-1 from only 4.5 overs to secure victory.

Dell had been dismissed for a single after going in first on the opening day of the NSW first grade encounter away to Bankstown.

He had been promoted to the senior side after hitting two half centuries in a second grade match the previous weekend.

Mosman were bowled out for 258 in 60.5 overs and then England and Surrey opener Mark Stoneman ended unbeaten on 45 from 109 balls as Bankstown reached 109-3 off 35 overs by the close.

The game will be concluded next weekend.
