HAYNES ON SHORTLIST FOR PCA MEN’S PLAYER OF MONTH FOR MAY

Worcestershire batter Jack Haynes is on the shortlist for the PCA Men’s Player Of The Month award for May after a prolific month.

He is in the top four of the men’s PCA Most Valuable Player rankings

Haynes scored three centuries in the LV=Insurance County Championship, including his debut first class hundred against Durham at New Road.

The Worcester-born player followed that with three figure innings against Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

He also hit 61 in the Rapids opening Vitality Blast match against Yorkshire Vikings at Headingley.

Haynes, Yorkshire’s Harry Brook, Middlesex’s Toby Roland-Jones, and Lancashire’s Keaton Jennings have been nominated for their performances in May.

Central Sparks’ Amy Jones, South East Stars’ Aylish Cranstone, Thunder’s Emma Lamb and Southern Vipers’ Danni Wyatt have been nominated for the Women’s award.

The players are selected by the PCA’s Most Valuable Player Rankings, which picks out the game’s top performers across each competition, as well as a month by month table and overall rankings.

The MVP takes into account batting, bowling and fielding contributions as well as match defining contributions using a unique algorithm developed with CricViz.

The PCA Player of the Month is decided by public vote on thepca.co.uk – with the poll closing on Wednesday 8 June at 11am.
