Worcestershire Head Coach Alan Richardson is thrilled about the signing of spinner Fateh Singh, describing him as a player with “tremendous potential” and “a high ceiling” for growth. Singh has committed to Worcestershire on a three-year contract, keeping him at Visit Worcestershire New Road until the end of the 2027 season.
Singh, a slow left-armer, caught Richardson’s eye while on loan with Worcestershire for the 2024 Metro Bank One Day Cup. With 15 wickets in eight games and impactful lower-order runs, Singh proved to be a valuable asset, prompting Richardson to pursue a permanent deal.
Richardson expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m delighted to have signed Fateh; it’s a real feather in our cap to bring in someone with such potential.
“Nottinghamshire had depth in their spin department with Calvin Harrison, Liam Patterson, and Farhan Ahmed, so we enquired about Fateh, and he performed excellently for us last summer.
“Fateh and Tom Hinley formed a reliable spin duo during the middle overs, and Fateh’s ability with the bat added depth to our lineup.”
He added, “We’ve been tracking Fateh for some time, hoping to bring him to New Road permanently, and I’m thrilled that it’s now a reality. He’s continuously learning and growing, and I believe his ceiling is very high if he continues on this path.”
Richardson also emphasised the strategic importance of Singh’s addition, noting, “He’s a player hungry for success, and we’re excited to welcome him to the team.”
