Assistant Coach, Richard Jones, has praised the consistency shown by Worcestershire Seconds who are back in Championship action on Monday against Lancashire Seconds at Northern CC, Crosby, Liverpool.
The Seconds have won their last three Championship matches in which any play has been possible in addition to their final two games in the T20 tournament.
Their only Championship setback came against a powerful Lancashire side at Kidderminster in mid April.
Jones said: “A very professional performance last week against Northamptonshire, three wins in a row, and they are stringing performances together.
“They are doing the basics really, really well. We are batting for long periods of time, putting together partnerships.
“With the ball we are bowling in good areas for long periods of time and also taking our catches.
“It has been a good passage of cricket for us and the fact they are putting performances together game after game is probably the most pleasing thing.
“For a side made up of mainly young players, who are learning their way in the game, it has been encouraging.”
Opener Taylor Cornall will be looking to continue the form which has brought him three hundreds in a week – two for Ombersley in the Birmingham and District Premier League and one for the Seconds against Northamptonshire.
Jones said: “He has not got the runs he would have liked this year but he went back to what he used to do, and what he knows best, and that seems to have been a good change.
“A couple of league hundreds and against Northamptonshire, he played really nicely.
“Hopefully in the next two games he can continue that form and start putting some pressure on guys above him.”
Academy bowler Harry Darley will be striving to build upon his first five-for the Seconds against Northamptonshire.
Included is triallist Matt Burton, a seamer who has been playing for Hampshire Seconds.
The squad will be joined by whoever is released from the first team squad for the LV=Insurance County Championship match with Yorkshire at New Road.
