Josh Cobb hits half century for Seconds in ECB T20 tournament

Josh Cobb struck a quickfire half century for Worcestershire Seconds during their ECB T20 encounter with Somerset Seconds at Taunton Vale.

Cobb, who has signed a white ball contract with Worcestershire for the 2024 season, hit 56 off 36 balls with one six and seven fours.

He added 54 for the first wicket with Olly Cox (15), after Worcestershire had been put into bat, and 49 for the third with Ethan Brookes.

Brookes made 42 off 25 balls with one six and five fours as Worcestershire reached 130-2 in the 13th over.

But the last eight wickets went down for 49 runs, with Ismael Mohammed (26) the only significant contributor as they were bowled out for 179 in exactly 20 overs.

In reply, Somerset raced to 184-3 off 17.4 overs to complete a double over Worcestershire.

Chris Ellison (1-3), trialist Tom Hinley (1-22) and Harry Darley (1-320 each picked up one wicket for Worcestershire.
