Worcestershire wicket-keeper batsman Ben Cox is closing in on 300 first class victims in his career.
Cox needs three more dismissals in the Specsavers County Championship encounter with Derbyshire at Kidderminster beginning today (Sunday) to reach the treble century mark.
The tally of Worcestershire’s red ball vice-captain is made up of 284 catches and 13 stumpings.
Two hundred and ninety two of his scalps have been for Worcestershire and five for the MCC.
Cox is one of two Worcestershire players to have scored 300 plus runs this summer in the Championship which has reached the half-way mark for the County.
Daryl Mitchell’s unbeaten half century against Glamorgan at Cardiff propelled him onto 329 runs with Cox (309) not far behind.
Charlie Morris (26) remains the leading wicket-taker followed by club captain Joe Leach (17) and Josh Tongue (16).
