Worcestershire all-rounder Joe Leach is poised to return to action in tomorrow’s (Monday’s) Second Eleven Championship match with Leicestershire at Barnt Green.
Leach has been side-lined since undergoing a scan after missing last month’s LV=Insurance County Championship match with Derbyshire at the Incora County Ground with a back problem.
But the good news is that Worcestershire’s new-ball bowler, and so often their talisman with the ball, has returned to bowling and is available for Monday’s encounter.
Assistant Coach-Bowling Coach, Alan Richardson, confirmed: “Joe Leach is back up and running, which is great.
“He has been bowling this week, so he will play in the second team game at Barnt Green on Monday, which will be some valuable overs for him.
Leach said: “Looking forward to it. It’s been quite a long three or four weeks getting back into a position where I can play.
“It was just a minor disc issue, and I’ve been ramping up the bowling in the nets.
“I can’t wait to get going and hopefully build up this week before going into what will be a busy period for the rest of the season.”
