Worcestershire Rapids batter Jake Libby has finished as the leading run-scorer in the group stages of the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
One Day Cup captain Libby’s 83 against Lancashire Lightning at Emirates Old Trafford took his final run tally in Group A to 414 at an average of 103.50.
He finished nine runs ahead of Leicestershire’s Sol Budinger with Ben Slater of Nottinghamshire (398) the next most prolific.
Libby hit five half centuries in total consisting of 89 versus Durham, 71 not out against Derbyshire, an unbeaten 50 off the Northamptonshire Steelbacks attack and 75 against Kent Spitfires in addition to his knock against Lancashire.
Gareth Roderick (389) and Ed Pollock (333) were the other main contributors.
In addition, Tom Hinley had the second highest strike rate in the tournament with 151.72 behind Gloucestershire’s Ajeet Dale (160.00).
Young Worcestershire pace bowler Jack Home and on loan spinner Fateh Singh were the Rapids joint leading wicket-takers with 15 apiece followed by Hinley (12).
George Hill (Yorkshire) and Zak Chappell (Derbyshire) led the way with 17 wickets each.
Roderick confirmed himself as the most successful keeper in the tournament in terms of dismissals with another four catches against Lancashire.
It took his One Day Cup tally to 22 consisting off 18 catches and four stumpings, five more than Glamorgan’s Will Smale.
