MOEEN HEADING TO SOUTH AFRICA FOR SHORT SPELL OF T20 ACTION

Moeen Ali will return to action after a seven week break when he plays in the initial stages of the Mzansi Super League Twenty20 franchise tournament in South Africa this Friday and Sunday.

The England and Worcestershire all-rounder has been signed up by Cape Town Blitz to feature in their opening two games in the six-team tournament which runs from November 8 to December 16.

Moeen is available for the Blitz’s matches away to Jozi Stars in Johannesburg on November 8 and Paarl Rocks two days later.

It is the 32-year-old’s first participation in the competition and his first match action since leading Worcestershire Rapids on Vitality Blast finals day on September 21.

Moeen’s involvement in the Super League is only on a short term basis as he will then head to Abu Dhabi for the third edition of the T10 League which gets underway on November 15.

He will be representing Team Abu Dhabi for whom he has been chosen as their ‘Icon Player.’

County colleagues Pat Brown – fresh from his England T20I debut in New Zealand – and Ross Whiteley will be representing Karnataka Tuskers.
