Worcestershire all-rounder Jack Home completed his second half century of the game and picked up a wicket as England Young Lions Youth Test with South Africa ended in a thrilling draw in Stellenbosch.
Test debutant Home followed his first innings 63 with another fine knock batting at number eight of 60 not out.
He resumed on 34 not out in a total of 275-8 and shepherded the Young Lions through to their declaration at 336-9 declared from 84 overs.
It left South Africa a 317 target and they closed on 295-9 with the last pair surviving the final eight deliveries.
Home put on 44 today for the ninth wicket with Tazeem Ali (19) and an unbroken 40 with Alex Finch (13 not out).
It was another splendid performance from the Worcestershire Academy product who struck two sixes and five fours in his 69 ball knock.
In the first innings he had come to the wicket with England in trouble at 120-6 and put on 153 with Farhan Ahmed.
To score 123 runs for just once out batting at number eight on your Youth Test debut was a notable effort.
South Africa reached 48-1 by lunch, losing a wicket to the last ball before the interval.
Home came into the attack second change and quickly dismissed number three Adriaan Lagadien (4) with the total 61-2 in the 16th over.
Spinners Farhan Ahmed (5-103) and Tazeem Ali (3-56) were largely responsible for South Africa collapsing from 180-2 but they held on to deny England victory.
Home finished with figures of 1-41 from 13.2 overs.
