worcestershire rapids and birmingham bears will again be competing for the norman gifford trophy in this evening’s vitality blast at New Road (5.15pm).
it will be the fourth year in a row that the two counties have gone head to head in the t20 competition for the additional silverware.
norman enjoyed an incredible first class career in which he ended with 2,068 wickets and won 15 test matches and two odi caps for england.

the trophy was originally named in his honour following a social media campaign amongst supporters of both teams.
the norman gifford trophy will be awarded to the winners of tonight’s game and then the return meeting at edgbaston on august 23.
it is the former mackeson trophy for which worcestershire and warwickshire competed annually in list a matches in the 1960s.
