worcestershire rapids are the team to catch at the half-way stage of their royal london one-day cup north group programme.
skipper joe leach’s side have won three of their opening four games heading into tomorrow’s clash with leicestershire foxes at New Road.
there have been victories over derbyshire falcons, yorkshire vikings and lancashire with the solitary setback versus durham jets.
it is the same position the rapids were in at the end of last season’s north group programme and they will be hoping for a repeat outcome in 2018.
head coach kevin sharp said: “we are half-way through the tournament, there are four big games to come and if we win them all, we will be in the quarter-finals.
“we’ve had a difficult championship start and that win against derbyshire (falcons) in the first cup game was a big tonic to everyone because we’d been so near and yet so far in the championship games.
“that win was a great tonic and good for all of us confidence wise and everything and so far, so good.”
sharp has named a 13 man squad to face the falcons with callum ferguson replacing travis head as the overseas player.
