Gareth Roderick – Green Point, South Africa
Worcestershire keeper-batter, Gareth Roderick, continued his fine form for Green Point in the Western Province Premier Division encounter with Rondebosch.
Roderick, recently appointed Green Point’s new captain, scored 65 off 87 balls to lift his run tally for the winter past the 500 mark.
He came to the wicket at 20-2 and gradually accelerated after a steady start, hitting three fours in an over from Alistair Gray and driving Luke Stevens for six.
Roderick added 71 for the fourth wicket with Neil Eksteen (24) before he was sixth out with the total on 133.
His aggregate for the winter is 508 runs from 11 knocks, including five half-centuries, at an average of 56.40.
Green Point were eventually dismissed for 199 in 49.5 overs, and Rondebosch achieved a four wicket win with one ball to spare.
Pat Brown – St. Augustine, South Africa
Pace bowler, Pat Brown, made his debut for St. Augustine in their seven-wicket win over Somerset West in the Western Province Premier Division.
Brown flew straight to South Africa after helping Lumbini All Stars to win the Nepal T20 tournament.
He shared the new ball and made the second breakthrough, with just 10 runs on the board, in having opener Larry Morkel (5) caught in the third man region.
Brown bowled five overs in his first spell and ended with figures of 7-1-35-1 as Somerset West were dismissed for 160 in 46.3 overs.
It was a target St. Augustine reached in just 35.4 overs.
Ben Gibbon – Willetton, Australia
Left armer Ben Gibbon played a crucial role in Willetton defeating Mount Lawley by nine wickets to reach the semi-final stages of the Western Australia Cricket Association first grade competition.
Gibbon took his wicket tally to 13 in five first grade games with another three scalps as Mount Lawley were bowled out for 142 in 49 overs.
He had Elijah Ward-Armstrong (9) caught at deep square leg in his second spell after switching ends and then picked up two more in the latter stages of the innings.
Gibbon finished with 8-0-34-3, and his overall figures in the competition are 60.4-11-231-13 at an average of 17.77.
Willetton raced to victory in just 17.3 overs, with captain Kallen Bond hitting an unbeaten 91 from 51 balls.
Gibbon said: “It was another good win to get into the knockout stages after three other results went our way.”
The semi-finals are scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 22.
Adam Finch – Sturt CC, Australia
Pace bowler Adam Finch’s side, Sturt, had the better of the South Australia Cricket Association Premier Cricket meeting with Adelaide, whose line-up contained Dillon Pennington and Taylor Cornall.
Finch had picked up one wicket on day one the previous weekend when Adelaide, for whom Cornall made 27, had been bowled out for 186.
Pennington bowled 15 overs for 52 runs but could not make a breakthrough as Sturt replied with 220-4 on day two to secure the first innings points.
Henry Cullen – Plenty Valley CC, Australia
Keeper-batter, Henry Cullen, made 24 off 42 balls for Plenty Valley on the opening day of the Victoria Cricket Association two-day fixture with Preston.
Cullen struck three fours and was second out with the total on 45.
Plenty Valley were able to total 252-7 off 80 overs by the close, with the match to be concluded next weekend.
