Kashif Ali scored an unbeaten century to help Worcestershire Seconds chase down a 360 target and defeat Glamorgan Seconds by five wickets in a Championship fixture at New Road.
Kashif ended on 136 not out from 188 balls with six sixes and 10 fours as Worcestershire triumphed in 94.2 overs.
He was given excellent support by keeper-batter Henry Cullen during a fifth wicket stand of 144 in 32.3 overs.
Cullen continued his fine form by making 68 from 103 deliveries with one six and seven other boundaries.
They came together at 177-4 and, after Cullen’s dismissal, Ollie Sutton (21 not out) joined Kashif in the middle to see the Seconds over the finishing line.
It was their fourth win in the last five Championship matches in which any play has been possible.
There were other important contributions with openers Rehaan Edavalath (26) and Taylor Cornall (44) putting on 62 and then Ben Cox (45) adding 75 for the fourth wicket with Kashif.
Worcestershire collect 19 points from the game – 16 for the win and three bowling bonus points.
On day one, Academy captain Joe Stanley and Matt Burton had picked up three wickets apiece as Glamorgan were bowled out for 259 in 74.5 overs.
Worcestershire reached 121-5 by the close of a rain shortened second day with Taylor (34) and Ed Pollock (39) figuring in a 63 run stand for the third wicket.
Cullen (33) shepherded Worcestershire to 184 all out on day three and then triallist Liam Hurt, who has played for Leicestershire and Derbyshire, finished with 4-63.
Ben Clarke, who replaced Olly Cox after day two, also had impressive figures of 2-0-9-3 before Glamorgan declared.
Cornall and Edavalath safely negotiated 10 overs in reaching 12-0 by the close before the successful fourth day run chase.
