Seconds Receive Boost In Bid To Reach Trophy Semis

Worcestershire’s hopes of reaching the semi-finals of the Second Eleven Trophy have received a boost even though their own North Group campaign has been completed.

The County are currently lying in second spot but potentially could have been overhauled by either Yorkshire, Durham or MCC Young Cricketers should they win their remaining matches.

But Yorkshire have now been removed from the equation after having a point deducted.

It has been ruled that they were in breach of bat size regulations during the Trophy match with Durham Seconds on May 8.

Yorkshire are now three points behind Worcestershire with just one game remaining so can no longer overtake them.

Worcestershire will now be hoping either Durham and MCC Y slip up in their final two fixtures so they cement their top two position.
