Worcestershire Seconds picked up early wickets but were then on the receiving end of centuries from Tom Loten and James Wainman when play got underway a day late in the Championship match with Yorkshire Seconds at Harrogate.
After the first day wash-out, Worcestershire looked to make up for lost time with the ball after putting Yorkshire into bat and reduced them to 68-5 in the 32nd over.
Andy Carter, who has signed a short term contract with the County, and triallist Andrew Brewster picked up two wickets apiece and there was one for debutant Josh Holling.
Loten and Wainman then joined forces and transformed the day’s proceedings as Yorkshire closed on 427-8 from 104 overs.
The sixth wicket pair added 199 in 47 overs.
Seconds skipper Ollie Westbury eventually trapped Loten lbw for 131 and Holling returned to claim a second scalp as Wainman (117) was caught behind.
But contributions from the lower order ensured that Yorkshire topped the 400 mark by the close of play.
Carter ended with 3-84 from 24 overs, Brewster 2-49 and Holling 2-54.
