Rachel Wright, Board Member of Worcestershire County Cricket Club
Rachel Wright brings a wealth of experience from both the financial and education sectors. She spent the first 12 years of her career working at several investment banks, including Lehman Brothers, Deutsche Bank, and First Chicago, where she specialized in trading emerging market derivatives, focusing on interest rate and currency swaps, bonds, and FRA’s.
After taking a short career break to raise her children, Rachel transitioned into education. She taught mathematics from Year 7 to further maths level and held various management roles, including Head of House and Director of Extra-Curricular Activities. In these roles, she gained valuable experience in safeguarding, governance, and risk assessment, overseeing 120 external school trips annually and coordinating large school events.
Rachel has also served as a school governor, guiding a local primary school through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and two Ofsted inspections. She is the Chair of the educational charity MathsMakers, which supports disadvantaged children in North London with their confidence and understanding of maths.
Born and raised in Worcester with a lifelong passion for cricket, Rachel has strong family ties to Worcestershire CCC. Together with her husband, she managed the youth section at Radlett CC, where her three sons played club and county cricket.
Rachel was co-opted onto the Board of Worcestershire CCC a year ago and was elected by members at the AGM. Her current responsibilities include governance, ensuring ECB compliance, and serving on the Master Plan and Ground Committee.
