Ben Twohig will be able to pick the brains of former West Indies all-rounder and captain Carl Hooper when he flies out to Australia for the winter next month to play grade cricket.
The Worcestershire spinner will undertake a second spell with Adelaide based side Southern Districts as he continues his rehabilitation from an anterior cruciate ligament tear.
Hooper has been appointed the Districts High Performance Coach for 2019-2020.
He played 102 Tests and 227 ODIs for the Windies and became the first player to score 5,000 runs, take 100 wickets and hold 100 catches in Test cricket.
Hooper also became only the second player to score a Championship century against all 18 counties in 2003 after spells with Kent and latterly Lancashire.
The 52-year-old has coached Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League.
Southern Districts play in the South Australia Cricket Association first grade competition.
Twohig will link up with them in late November and return towards the end of February to continue the countdown to the 2020 season.
During his time in Australia, Twohig will also spend time each week at the Darren Lehmann Academy.
He will work again with Brad Young, who played ODI cricket for Australia, and learnt a lot from him last winter during his first spell with Southern Districts.
The 21-year-old played seven Specsavers County Championship matches in 2018.
