A quartet of Worcestershire CCC Academy-pathway players were part of the Midlands side which went down by seven wickets to the South-West in the opening 50 over encounter at the 33rd Bunbury Festival at Felsted School.
Ollie Walker (5), who had top-scored with 64 not out in the T20 match against London-East the previous day, and Rehan Edavaleth (6) opened the batting and both fell to Will Gilderson with 15 on the board.
But Harry Cooke came in at number six at 55-4 and scored 25 off 53 balls in putting on 51 for the fifth wicket with Ashish Chakrapani (37).
A fourth Worcestershire player in Reeve Evitts (five not out) came in last and helped Jacob Clarke (42) add 32 useful runs as the Midlands totalled 179 all out in 45 overs.
When South-West batted, opener and captain James Cole hit 112 off 107 balls and carried his side to within four runs of victory before he was dismissed by Edavaleth.
Edavaleth also trapped keeper James Rew (16) lbw before the South-West reached 182-3 with 14 overs to spare.
He ended with figures of 6-0-31-2 and the other three Worcestershire players – Cooke (2-0-9-0), Walker (3-0-7-0) and Evitts (3-0-11-0) – also had a bowl.
