Worcestershire Women’s Rapids captain, Chloe Hill, is confident the squad can challenge for more success this summer.
The Rapids lifted the ECB T20 Group Two Cup in 2022 and last summer triumphed in the West Midlands Regional Cup.
This year they are again competing in the T20 Group Two Cup and also the ECB 50 Over Group Three tournament.
The Rapids campaign will get underway on Sunday when they take local rivals Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston in the 50 over competition (11am start).
Hill, who will be skippering Worcestershire for a fourth successive season, said: “The Worcestershire Women’s Rapids team have been quite strong now for the past three or four years.
“There are youngsters coming through who are making it better and stronger now.
“I would say we would be up there and there or thereabouts.
“With all the changes happening in the women’s game over the next couple of years, it can only make the pathway stronger and the girls can see now they’ve got a career prospect by playing cricket full-time.”
Hill is excited about the progression made by two youngsters in spinner Phoebe Brett and seamer Amy Maund.
She said: “From what I saw, Phoebe Brett, the spinner, she looked like an exciting talent with the ball.
“We know what Amy Maund can do and she has been playing a lot of cricket at Loughborough University.
“Obviously we’ve also got the likes of Ellie Anderson and Charis Pavely as well but I don’t know if I class them as youngsters anymore even though they are!”
