Worcestershire are hosting a Red Ball Festival of Cricket for the crucial home clash with Kent beginning on Thursday 22 August.
The club are hoping to see a packed crowd at Visit Worcestershire New Road to get behind the team and promote four-day cricket to a wider audience.
Ticket prices have been reduced to £10 in advance for the game with juniors able to enter for FREE, whilst members are encouraged to use their remaining guest passes in their account to invite friends and family to the ground. Entry on the day is £19 for adults.
Supporters are invited to enjoy a picnic on the pitch during lunch on the outfield each day, and a lunch hamper featuring sandwiches, scones and cakes plus a bottle of prosecco is available to add to your ticket order.
On Thursday 22 August the focus will be on junior supporters, with a child-friendly ground tour, and a family fun trail plus activities on the pitch with the Worcestershire Cricket Foundation.
There will also be inflatable bouncy castles, games in the Scoreboard Square and a fun flood board unveiled behind the Basil D’Oliveira stand.
On day two, the focus will be on club history with a new captain’s board being unveiled as well as further ground tours and an exhibition of memorabilia, with historical and unseen archive items on show in the EBC Suite on View 3.
Head Groundsperson Stephen Manfield will also be giving a short talk on the art of preparing a four-day pitch, on the square at lunch.
There will also be a Worcestershire Old Players Association Lunch in BEARD Terrace and a Life Members Lunch in the Chestnut Marquee.
On day three, there will be the annual cricket memorabilia market taking place in Chestnut Marquee.
There will also be guest speakers in our popular BEARD Terrace with Kevin Sharp joining us on Thursday and Worcestershire County Cricket Club CEO, Ashley Giles, on Saturday.
Worcestershire CEO Ashley Giles said: “We would love to we inspire a new generation of fans to experience the excitement of four-day cricket.
“There is something for everyone to enjoy during this fixture, and it would be fantastic to see the ground packed to support the team as they look to retain Division One status.”
